A New Sheriff In Town With More Agenda By Ben. Anthony Edejor & Ukadike Uwabor

The euphoria that heralds transitions of power from one administration to another is palpable in the air.

As expected, power would change hands on the 29th May in Nigeria as well as 28 states where gubernatorial elections were held.

In Delta State, the joy knows no bounds as Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori takes over from His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as the 5th elected governor of Delta State.

The expectations of Deltans are high considering the level the

Outgoing administration took the state to.

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori is not new to the challenges of governance and therefore has been equipped to face it squarely.

Like a Trojan horse, he has already encapsulated plans with his developmental programmes in accordance with the yearnings and aspirations of Deltans.

This 4 POINT Agenda otherwise known as MORE Agenda is anchored on Meaningful Development, Opportunities for all Deltans, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security in the State.

Other expected outcomes from his MORE AGENDA include:

# Job Creation

# High GDP & IGR Generation

# Capital Inflow

# Export of raw and processed agricultural products

# Improved economy of the state

# Improved living condition

# Environmental rejuvenation

# Improved infrastructural facilities

# Social stability and security of lives and properties

# Improved educational and healthcare systems

Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has demonstrated unusual leadership qualities this past six years as speaker of the most vibrant House of Assembly in the country.

His Governorship tenure will not only consolidate on the gains of the Okowa’s administration, but to a large extent, set the state on the path of massive growth and prosperity. Rt. Hon. Oborevwori, who is also the National Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, was elected  Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly on May 11, 2017.

He is obviously not a contender any more but the longest serving speaker in the history of the House, who was elected Governor of the state on March 18, 2023. That victorious outing was not only victory for democracy in Delta State, but for many who were enthusiastic about making the right choice for the leadership of the state.

While he has enjoyed a great deal of affection and support all through his campaign, his political career has not been a bed of roses, neither has it been a Golgotha of thorns.

His integrity which has brought him this far, will definitely not abandon him in the hands of his traducers.

Deltans, as expected are anxiously waiting as the new Sheriff in Town with MORE Agenda comes on board.

As he is being sworn in on May 29th 2023, we at Vijon International Media Ltd, also felicitate with him and the entire people of Delta State on this great achievement. May God give him the needed wisdom, strength and courage to steer the ship of the oil rich state to greater heights.
