The people of Abawa ward 3, Aviara, in Isoko South local government area of Delta State, have been commended for their unflinching support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon Johnson Erijo, gave the commendation when a delegation of the ward paid him a courtesy visit in Asaba.
Hon Erijo noted that Abawa community had been a stronghold of PDP, which was reaffirmed by the massive support of the ward for the party’s candidates in the last general election.
He assured the community that their support for PDP and their votes for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other candidates of the party would not be in vain as the state government was committed to developing all parts of the state.
The Chief of Staff urged the ward to sustain its loyalty and support for the ruling party and persons in leadership positions at all levels in order to attract the much needed development to the community.
Hon Erijo thanked the delegation for acknowledging the much he did for the ward some years back when he represented the Isoko South 2 Constituency in the State House of Assembly and called for their prayers for him and the Governor.
The Chairman of the ward, Mr Aluya Benison Onosomohwo, who led the delegation, said the visit was to felicitate with the COS on his recent appointment and to also commend him for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the development of their community when he was in the State Assembly.
He pledged the support of the community for the Oborevwori administration and pleaded with the state government to remember them in the scheme of things.
